Mt Gravatt Silver Boot notes

Mt Gravatt Premier League 4 – Capalaba Premier League 2
Fanastic result for the new look Mounties squad.Coach Jeff Hogan was extremely happy with the entire 16 players used this week. A lot of new faces gelling together quickly to produce a polished performance with a lot of professionalism and control in the latter part of the match, allowing the Mounties to control the pace and direction of the game. The players were all in high spirits after the game, noting that 50% of the players are new to the club. There is a great positive energy around the club this season, which is obviously translating on to the pitch.Next week it’s Taringa!! Can’t wait!

Mt Gravatt Hawks Premier League 2 – Olympic Premier League 1
Great start to the Mounties season with a hard fought win over a determined Olympic outfit at Qld Lions Stadium in Richlands.Following the 4-3 win of Taringa over Capalaba the lads took to a heavy, rain sodden pitch to end the first half 0-0.Olympic started strong enough but appeared to tire towards half time where our pre xmas training paid dividends, allowing us to defend strongly and counter on the break having numerous crosses threaten their goal. After refocusing at halftime, we deservedly went ahead through a deflected strike from Luke France. Olympic responded with a well worked move to level mid way through the half, but became increasingly frustrated with each other as the game wore on and our defence refused to waiver. We sealed the deal with a great team move and strike by Brandon Hewitson 12 mins from time. See you all at training. Well played!!
