Annerley Recreation Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Reymundo Amaya as coach of our premier women’s team for 2011. We are also pleased to welcome Mario Lopez back to Annerley as women’s reserves team coach.
Reymundo Amaya has an impressive coaching record in both the Brisbane footballing community and internationally. Reymundo has served as technical advisor to the El Salvador Soccer Federation and has undertaken senior coaching roles with Salvadoran national, Olympic and first division league teams. Since coming to Brisbane in the late 1990s, Reymundo has been heavily focussed on player development including at clubs such as Brisbane Wolves and Rochedale Rovers where he achieved impressive results with junior teams. His role as women’s premier league coach at Annerley marks a new phase in Reymundo’s coaching career at the highest level of women’s club football in Brisbane.
Mario has been coaching in Australia since 1990. He is experienced in coaching women’s, men’s and junior teams and has held coaching positions at the El Salvador Sporting Club, All Hallows School, Annerley and Acacia Ridge FC. Mario’s coaching style is also informed by his background as an elite player having played for the El Salvador national U23 team and national league clubs in El Salvador and Brazil.
Reymundo and Mario bring a wealth of footballing experience and expertise to the club and we are thrilled to have them at the helm for our inaugural season in the WPL.
