Souths Bulletin

VALE JIMMY ADAMS – Senior mens division players and supporters will remember Jimmy as the Club’s most enthusiastic and vocal fan for many years. Jimmy returned to the UK 12 months ago after he lost his mother (and carer). Sadly we’ve been advised that Jimmy was taken to hospital on Wednesday night and passed away on Thursday morning. We’re told that he’d kept up with our Premier team’s results this season and that he missed his Saturday nights at Souths. Jimmy will indeed by missed by us all.

Souths announced as Girls Representative Club in 2011! Football Brisbane and Football Qld have selected Souths as one of 3 clubs to represent Brisbane in the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 Girls Rebel Sport Junior Premier League from 2011. This is a very exciting development for Junior Girls and Women’s Football at the Club. Keep watching our website regarding dates of the upcoming trials.

SEAMUS WINS THE BIGGEST PRIZE! On Monday night Souths’ Premier Mens team captain Seamus McAnelly was announced as the winner of the prestigous Football Brisbane Gold Medal for 2010. This award is voted on by Premier League referees all season, and Seamus’ win is even more fantastic given that he missed 6 games mid-season! We’ve always known that Seamus is the backbone of the team’s midfield – now everyone in Brisbane football knows too! Congratulations Seamus – you’ve done Souths proud!
