Capalaba romp home against Redlands to join Rochedale in Canale Cup final

Capalaba won 5-0 against Redlands last night. Peter Bannon’s side were made to pay for defensive mistakes. The opening goal came from Greg Thomas who was through 1-on-1 with the keeper Mitch O’Brien. Thomas drew the keeper and went to go past him leaving O’Brien no choice but to bring Thomas down. Thomas dispatched the penalty. Redlands had a good spell after but conceeded again thanks to a defensive mistake which allowed Scott Sargent to smash home.

Moses Petelo scored twice and his second spoke volumes. Redlands put 17 passes together only for an overhit cross giving possession back. Muir found his right back Sean Curtis who hit a direct ball for Petelo to run onto. Scott Bow couldnt keep up with the nifty Kiwi who was able to run into the area and shoot past O’Brien.
