Mt Gravatt is hosting a Charity Day on Sunday 15 August to coincide with the Quest Newspapers Veto Premier League (VPL) Match of the Round. There will be a full schedule of games on the day with the first game being the U15 BJL team at 9am, followed by the Youth, Reserves and then the Premier League clash against Taringa Rovers at 3pm. There will also be an in-house carnival for the U6-U10 teams from 10am until 1:30pm. The Brisbane Roar are also getting on board with this special event with a visit from the Roar players and the Brisbane Roar mascot Roary making an appearance. Mt Gravatt are running a Mega Raffle with first prize being an encased ball signed by the Brisbane Roar. There will also be a number of consolation prizes including 4 family passes to the Brisbane Roar. There will also be free rides for the kids and the whole community is welcome to come along and help raise funds for a good cause. There will be a BBQ, Canteen, Bar and Coffee Van available on the day and the club hopes to create a carnival atmosphere. All proceeds from the day including Junior Match Fees will be donated to charity. As part of the day, the Mt Gravatt Premier League team will be wearing a Pink Playing strip (pink jersey, black shorts and pink socks) in recognition of support for charities and the community. The club is donating all proceeds from the day to the Kim Walters Choices and Mater Children’s Hospital.
